Bacteriostatic water for injection of peptides and growth hormone. Sterile non-pyrogenic water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which is added as a bacteriostatic preservative. Unlike ordinary sterile water, bacteriostatic can keep the dissolved peptide stable for a long time.
The container can be reintroduced several times (most commonly through a sterile needle) and the benzyl alcohol inhibits or stops the growth of most potentially contaminating bacteria.
